The oldest brewery, brewing secret recipes from “The Tuns” recipe books handed down through generations of custodians. Brewers who also craft ground breaking new style beers to compliment the range.
How did you start?
Bought a house next door to the brewery, a master cabinet maker, I asked for a job.
What is special about Three Tuns Brewery?
First licenced in 1642, brewing from a 16th century Brewhouse and miniature Victorian tower brewery. Gravity fed, tuns yeast, unique beer style.
What is our best-selling product? Why do you think this is?
XXX
A recipe developed by John Roberts first in 1880 (when he built the tower) and passed down the line. A secret brew “to quench the thirst of agricultural workers”
With all that has been achieved in your business so far, what are you most proud of?
Saving the brewery in 2002. Restoring the buildings, modernising and replicating a gravity fed brew system (10 year project was completed in 2012)
