Born out of love of Mexico and Mexican Food combined with a desire to break out of the grind of 9-5, Helen Dowen created Loco Lobo Mexican Cuisine. Now they travel the UK bringing their fantastic Mexican cuisine to the masses. I had the pleasure of interviewing Helen as part of our Meet the Producer blog series as we get ready for the Ludlow Food Festival 2016.

Tasty, Spicy & Authentic
Tell us in 140 characters what readers can expect when they find you at the Ludlow Food Festival?
We cook our own authentic recipe Mexican food from scratch using genuine Mexican spices and peppers. Its typical Mexican street food found on the streets of Mexico.
How did you start?
Fed up with the usual 9-5 daily grind, we wanted to do something completely different that we were passionate about. We love Mexican food so decided to get out and about to great events instead of sitting behind a desk.
What do you like making the most? Have you got a favourite dish?
The Pork Carnitas is a personal favourite, not too hot but very tasty and tender. Its cooked for 8 hours in a blend of spices and orange juice.
What is our best-selling product? Why do you think this is?
We can never guess from one event to the next what is going to be popular, it changes by the week! But our Burritos seem to be very popular, probably due to the mix of flavours and generous portions!
With all that has been achieved in your career so far, what are you most proud of?
We took the plunge and ventured into something completely different, and we are proud of what we’ve achieved so far.
What are you looking forward to most about the Ludlow Food Festival?
3 days of meeting lots of wonderful people, in a wonderful location at one of the best food festivals in the UK.

Favourite Colour? Purple
Favourite Food? Mexican of course! But I also love Chinese food and I am very partial to good quality ice cream
Favourite Restaurant? The Mulberry or Pomodoros in Bewdley
Hobby? Not a lot of time for hobbies in the summer, but I do love all animals and nature. Our business has become our hobby!
Favourite place to visit in Shropshire? Well obviously Ludlow!
